Safin Hasan one of the youngest IPS officer, who cracked UPSC in first attempt, is talking about what you need the most to crack the toughest exam of India i.e. UPSC.
Safin Hasan from batch of 2018 has cleared UPSC in his first attempt and became youngest IPS of Gujarat. In this speech he broke many of the myth like the one who is not from English medium can’t clear UPSC easily or the one who is from lower middle class family or the one who is studied in Government School can’t clear UPSC. All he is saying is you don’t need fancy looks or modern trending items to clear UPSC and also speaking on hoe to crack UPSC in first attempt.
He belongs to the lower middle class family. Father was electrician and mother was working in marriages to make Rotis to promote his attempt to study. Speech:
I went to Delhi in June 2016
And appeared in June 2017
And I cleared both UPSC and GPSC
Papa was electrician
Mummy was a housewife
Used to work in a diamond factory
After then she worked to make Rotis in the Marriage Functions
I have studied that way
I belong to rural background of Gujarat
And I studied in Gujarati medium
In government school
I have left for the exam
I have my mains
GS-3 paper was in the morning
My scooty slipped at 8:30
My ligament got broken
The left hand was also injured
I stood up
I saw that my right hand was still fine
And I have decided, I will go to the exam hall and write the exam
I had two options at that time
Either I started crying, why did this happen to me?
My mains have been ruined
And go to the hospital
And the other option
Or the other option was to see if I could survive three hours more
Yes I can…
(and) I went to the exam hall
My interview of UPSC
Remember me well
I had an interview on 23rd March
I was admitted to Hospital on 20th February
Because I had an infection in the body
And had a lot of fever
So there was no option other than IV (Intravenous).
Well, on March 1st, I thought (that) let's go to Delhi
Reached Delhi on 2nd of March
Due to attack of tonsillitis on 3rd March, flight back to Ahmedabad
Again hospitalization
I got holiday on 15th of March
On 16th March I arrived in Delhi
And on 23 March, I gave my UPSC interview
When it was in my mind that people who are giving interviews with me
They are preparing for a month
And for one month I was in the hospital
Again I thought
This is the moment when I can prove myself
I went to the interview
And got the second highest marks in whole India…
You have faced an accident at 8:30
And at 9 o'clock you can go to the exam
You have been in the hospital
for one month before the interview
And before that one week
you can go to Delhi and do its preparation.
Then luck has to come with you
No one comes with their luck
You have to make it
This race of UPSC
Never will a rabbit win
The one who wins, will always be the turtle
Who goes slow but remains steady
