Never give away your control! When allowing your employees, friends, family, or an agency to help you with your Google My Business Profile never give them your login or have them claim the business. You want to instead keep the ownership of the business on Google and give them access.
And this goes for all Google assets; your YouTube channel, your domain, Google analytics, your Google Business Profile - all of it. Give access and NOT control.
