We will discuss the existing landscape for programming quantum computers, and the challenges. We'll review some research around how to deal with these problems and complexities, and finally we will see how in modern Haskell (with linear types) we can go part a way to addressing some of these problems. We will also look at some open philosophical issues around what we can ever hope to achieve; and discuss the practicalities with modern quantum programming.
