Today, we get started on building the fully custom exhaust for the car! Our LS4 powered Triumph GT6 is a bit of a unicorn... in that, there is nothing off the shelf that just fits. So, we're taking the same route that so many others have also been forced into: building an entire system from scratch!

Choosing exhaust components can be more daunting than you might think, especially when you see the pricing attached to seemingly basic parts! We decided to use T304 Stainless Steel for corrosion resistance, and were fortunate enough to find a good deal for a 16 piece set of mandrel bends.

Of course, there's a lot more going on in an exhaust system than just pipes... we also settled on a Borla dual-in dual-out muffler with an internal X-pipe to help with exhaust scavenging, and hopefully it will give us a nice smooth tone with no resonance. (we have some ideas if there IS resonance though)

Even clamps and flanges can turn into a mind-numbing foray, and in the end we decided to keep things simple and use some band clamps to seal things up tightly.

Cutting and welding will be a challenge, but that's where the fun comes in right!
