All new for the 24/25 the Blizzard Anomaly is the narrowest of their new Anomaly collection. This is a piste focused All Mountain option for strong skiers who aren't scared of a ski that rips at high speeds.
Within the Anomaly are 2 sheets of metal and a hefty amount of power, but without the ultra demanding tail shape that required perfect technique.
The construction of the ski is an all new concept in ski design. The Metal reinforcement is split over different levels, allowing them fine tuned control of the flex pattern of the ski. This paired with the True Blend core, that allows even more fine tuning, gives Blizzard a ton of customisation and tuning of each ski they build to the intended performance.
We skied this in La Clusaz in Jan 2024 and loved its ability to crank out high speed turns on firm snow. Compared to a lot of the carving models it competes against the Anomaly has a lot more off piste prowess. That being said, if your goal is to rip around away from the groomers, the wider Anomaly 88 might be a better choice.
Who’s it for?
The Anomaly series still cater to Advanced to Expert level skiers and it is far on the heavy & strong side of the spectrum. Those looking for an easy going playful ski should avert their eyes now.
Why we love it?
The Anomaly 84 covers the skier who is looking for maximum piste performance in an All Mountain Ski. Its incredibly strong and precise, but without the inability to ski off piste that many carving skis suffer from.
