Donald Trump election could improve UK-US relations: Isabel Oakeshott
Talk TV International Editor Isabel Oakeshott says UK–US relations could improve under Donald Trump if he is re-elected in 2024.
“What it would hopefully mean is that the UK – US relations become a little bit more important again,” Ms Oakeshott said of the potential re-election of the former US president.
“Trump is an Anglophile – he loves this country, he loved the Queen, he’s very pro the UK.
“In theory it would be a good thing but that said if we have a Starmer government, probably less so.”
Ms Oakeshott's comments come as the former US president has asked the Supreme Court to intervene and overturn Colorado’s ruling to have him removed from the primary ballot.
