Hello! I invite you to conduct an experiment: is it possible to sew such a radial quilt without a base. I will show you the process from construction to the last stitch. Also, my idea was that I wanted to make a perfect mandala on a very imperfect background. For this, I took not one beautiful fabric, but several different ones and sewed them in the style of boro or, you can call it grunge. I consider this experiment to be successful, because after assembling the parts it turned out that three corners kept 90 degrees, and I corrected the central corner and it did not affect the picture in any way. All the stripes matched perfectly!
Dimensions:
Finished quilt - 94''/94'' (239/239cm)
4 background parts 47''/47'' (120/120cm)
step between points during construction 7.9" (20cm)
The first dots from the center are 11.8" (30cm) and 15.7" (40cm)
The width of the colorful strip is 2.5" (6.3 cm). You can use from 1 to 16 colors. If you want to use a jelly roll, then you need to reduce the size of the mandala, because two identical strips are a bit insufficient. You need to make a step between the dots of about 7" (18cm)
Thank you for being with me on this journey!
