Sumif Vs Sumifs Function in Excel

How to use Sumif & Sumifs Function ? Which one is better and why ?
Sumif Function syntax includes one range & 1 criteria.
Syntax = SUMIF(range,criteria,sum_range)
range = Column where we need to search
criteria = what we need to search
Sum_range = Column where our results lie which we need to sum
Disadvantage :-
Only 1 Range & Criteria can be used
Sumifs Function syntax includes multiple range & criteria.
Syntax = SUMIFS(sum_range,criteria 1,range 1,criteria 2,range 2….)
