The pharmacy services series looks at the NHS and non-NHS services provided in retail community pharmacies in England and Wales. to better understand pharmacy services. Disposal of unwanted medicines in pharmacy is an essential service where pharmacies minimise risks and follow procedures to safely dispose of waste medicines. This ties in to medicines waste. The learning within it is ideal for anyone looking into pharmacy, pharmacy students, trainee pharmacists (formally known as pre-registration trainees), pharmacists and everyone else who wants to better understand what pharmacy does and how it operates.

This pharmacy video looks at medicines waste, small steps that can be taken to reduce medicines wastage, and why it is better to take medicines that are unwanted to a pharmacy for disposal.

This series covers the value of community pharmacy and aims to clear up misconceptions about pharmacy services. I try to facilitate learning with a more animated and dynamic approach to hopefully make pharmacy concepts easier to understand.
