During the annual Discord Snowsgiving Event, discord managed to achieve this, which is dedicated around Thanksgiving and Christmas. It aimed to provide an array of prizes through giveaways and competitions to users on the platform such as Discord Nitro for Free, Discord Merchandise, and an exclusive Discord Trophy. They even supported charities and raised money for great causes through massive fundraisers.
This year they advertised it more than ever. It resulted in more people joining the community and partaking in the chat. At its peak, it amassed over 1.2 million people and had nearly 4,000 Discord Server Nitro Boosts. This required the Discord Server Member Cap to be raised several times, which needed more effort from the Discord Staff team and its community Discord Mods. They often had to place a six-hour slowmode in general chat. It is likely we will see this more often, with servers such as the Fortnite Discord Server surpassing 800,000 members recently - whilst others are stuck at it such as the TommyInnit Discord Server and the Minecraft Discord Server. The Snowsgiving server has since fallen under one million members and has returned to being the Discord Townhall community.
In the background of this video, my friend is playing Formula 1 2020 (F1 2020) on the Abu Dhabi on the Yas Marina Circuit (which was of much controversy this year due to recent events in the actual sport). He played as Max Verstappen in the Red Bull Racing Car on PC.
