Your DISCORD ACCOUNT could be HACKED...
Discord Accounts are being stolen from users through a brand new method used by hackers. This method allows hackers to compromise accounts without much effort. Recent Free Discord Nitro promotions that have occurred for YouTube Premium subscribers, Xbox Game Pass users, Epic Games members and T-Mobile Tuesday Customers has allowed opportunity for a fake Discord Nitro Scam to be made convincing users that Discord has partnered with Steam to offer 3 months of Free Discord Nitro. The promotion is sent through trusted sources, by using friends’ hacked accounts that act as a bot to distribute the message about the limited time offer - and links to a website completed with official Discord branding and convincing wording. As a result of recent knowledge of other Discord Nitro promotions, hearing about it from a trusted source and being taken to a cloned Discord Login Site this has fooled many users who consequently input their details believing Discord is asking them to login. Little do they know, that all their login details have then be stolen and are distributed for either further promotion of the scam or to be sold to others online for financial gain (through using the linked payment methods on the account to purchase Discord Nitro Codes and other online goods).
In this video, I break down the scam into more detail to publicly warn my audience about the dangers of this new method. Hoping to prevent further innocent victims having their Discord Accounts hacked, banned or used for other more damaging methods (such as losing money). Realistically this is a fraudulent scheme, which Discord is aware of and is luckily combatting via shutting down associated accounts (through termination, discord bans and disabling users via IP detection) as well as being in touch with appropriate authorities in applicable circumstances. If you come across this as a scam, please report this to a Discord Mod / Discord Moderator in the server that has been affected and/ or by reporting it to the Discord Trust and Safety team to deal with. For future reference please keep up to date via official sources such as Discord’s Twitter and Instagram pages and take note of the Discord Badges a Discord Member has to see if they are an official Discord Staff Member or not. I will also continue to inform you about real promotions, and fake scams to ensure my audience understands the current situation online and has the best understanding of information in relation to Discord. In the background of this video, my friend and I are playing on Minecraft version 1.8.9. The Minecraft Server we are playing on is Hypixel, the biggest server in the world. The game mode is Bed Wars Duos, which is a PvP game around both building and combat aspects of the game.
