Original Elektra Records #45615
45 RPM Vinyl
Debut 6/3/67
Peaked at #1 for THREE weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Flip side: "The Crystal Ship"
Written by: The Doors
Produced by Paul A. Rothchild
Engineered by Bruce Botnick
Published by Nipper Music (ASCAP)
This is the definative HOT MONO MIX,
that you cannot get anywhere else, except from the original vinyl 45 RPM record!
This is also the SHORT version at 2:52,
which was cut short for AM radio air play. The 7 minute version would have never been played on AM radio, so therefore, would never have been a hit. Who knows what would have happened to The Doors had this short version had never been made?!
The record that I play is known as the Elektra Girl version,
and it is the FIRST pressing of "Light My Fire", and is harder to find.
The first record that I show, is still original, but is the more common second pressing.
Both pressings are from when the record was released in 1967.
iTunes DOES have this short version as a "Digital 45" - LOOK FOR IT!
Ok fans of Channel WABCRADIO77,
this is a test of a WMG record in response
to the below story:
From the YouTube blog:
Warner Music Comes Back to YouTube
Music Licensing: It's complicated. Let's face it. But today all of that is beside the point: we are happy to announce that Warner Music Group (WMG)'s artists are returning home to YouTube. Under this new, multi-year global agreement, you will be able to discover, watch and share Warner music on the site. The partnership covers the full Warner catalog and includes user-generated content containing WMG acts.
With Warner on board, we now have artists from all four of the major music labels & publishers together with hundreds of indie labels and publishers on our platform. Warner will also be able to sell their own ad inventory and will
use our Content ID technology to claim and monetize user-generated videos uploaded to YouTube by Warner Music fans. The partnership is based on a revenue share generated from the ads on the videos, and this makes good business sense for everyone involved: artists and labels can make money from their videos and the YouTube community gets to enjoy them.
But enough talk... let's get back to the rock. Warner's videos will begin appearing on YouTube in the near future.
