Convened on April 19th, 2023
Join series conveners and CUAHSI for a new weekly webinar series on Integrating Citizen Science with Water Resources Research Across the Globe from March 1 - April 19, at 12:00 ET (18:00 CET).

The series of eight interactive online webinars will include sessions on the logistics and organizational requirements to manage successful citizen science projects, methods-focused sessions to share best practices in water resources data collection and citizen science data use in decision-making, and sessions on integrating citizen science projects in educational settings.

This series is convened by:
Dr. Ilja van Meerveld, University of Zurich, Switzerland
Dr. Thom Bogaard, TU Delft, Netherlands
Dr. Kris Stepenuck, University of Vermont, United States
Dr. Jan Seibert, University of Zurich, Switzerland

Speakers:
Lutz Breuer, University of Giessen
Hunter Smith, Living Lakes Canada
Chris Bowser, NYSDEC/Cornell WRI
Kieth Jennings, Lynker

Objectives:
To create an informal international network of scientists and practitioners focused on water resources research who can implement and sustain citizen science projects that generate data to inform research and management decisions.
To share best practices and lessons learned about engaging members of the public in water resources monitoring.
To introduce a suite of water quantity and quality monitoring methodologies that have been evaluated for their effectiveness, and are successfully used by members of the public to collect data that can inform research and management decisions.
To evaluate the effectiveness of educational activities using citizen science initiatives.
