Matter In Our Surroundings l Characteristics of Solid, Liquid and Gas l Diffusion, Fluidity, Compressibility etc #science #chemistry

Matter:
Anything that has mass and occupy space is called matter.

Characteristics of matter:
1. particles of matter have space between them.
2. particles of matter are continously moving.
3. particles of matter attract each other.

Characteristics of Solid:
1. It has definite shape, size and volume.
2. The molecules are tightly packed in solid.
3. There is high intermolecular force of Attraction between the molecules of solid.
4. Solids are rigid.

Characteristics of Liquid:
1. It has definite volume but it neither has definite shape nor has definite size .
2. It takes the shape of container.
3. It show the property of diffusion.
4. It can flow.

Characteristics of Gas:
1. It has mass but it neither has definite shape nor has definite volume.
2. It occupies the space available to them.
3. It can flow.
4. It can diffuse.

Diffusion: The movement of particles from a region of higher concentration to a region of lower concentration.

Fluidity: The property for which any substance can flow.
