As a result, the glass unit loses its tightness and can no longer retain warm air, turning into ordinary glass. To restore the properties, you need to make simple repairs; you can do it yourself, without turning to specialists. Most double-glazed windows, regardless of how much glass is used in them, have the same type of design. Two or more glasses are connected to each other along the perimeter using a spacer frame and sealants: external and internal. The glass is attached to an aluminum spacer frame. The wider it is, the greater the distance between the glasses. The glass and frame are secured using sealants: butyl tape and mastic. Inside the spacer frame there is a desiccant that absorbs moisture. The most commonly used is silica gel or molecular sieve. They prevent glass fogging. Between the glass sheets there is an empty space (chamber) filled with dry air or inert gas.
