ROBOCOP ROGUE CITY | Full Game Walkthrough | No Commentary
2023 has been an amazing gaming year with some fantastic games that have come out and I am happy to say that even at the end of this year, we are still getting great games in the form of Robocop Rogue City. This is made by the same team that developed Terminator Resistance which is the best Terminator game out there. (Still have to archive that someday)
And I can wholeheartedly say that these developers put their heart and soul into this game as well as this is a love letter to the old movies and the spirit of Robocop. The first Robocop is very special to me as it was directed by my fellow countryman Paul Verhoeven. It's a great movie that still holds up today and is both action packed and very funny.
The creators have decided to copy the style of the movie so everything feels like an 80's estethic despite being in the future. All your favorite characters return like officer Lewis, sergeant Reed and even The Old Man.
It is up to us to rid the streets of crime as a sinister plot unfolds underneath the shadow of an upcoming election. The game looks absolutely gorgeous due to the use of Unreal Engine 5 and the enviroments are so full of detail and are great to explore. Despite how filthy everything is in Detroit, the city feels alive and lived in and the action itself is also superb. It is so visceral and awesome as you feel like a walking tank.
There is plenty to upgrade and a surpring amount of weapons to play around with. The fighting itself never got old, though I much preferred to battle against human opponents instead of robots. Some of the sidequests can be a bit repetitious or mundane, but others you can clear within 5 minutes and offer some funny circumstances or backstory. If you enjoyed Robocop back in the day or love action games within a cyberpunk setting, then definitely check this out!
