In this video I interview Luiza Drăghicean, Regional Community Manager from UiPath, about the UiPath 2021 MVP Program. I will also share my thoughts about the program, as I’m planning to make an application.

UiPath awards the professionals that are showing outstanding contribution, innovation and evangelism in the large automation/RPA community their MVP prize.

For me as a huge UiPath fan and content creator, it would be an awesome opportunity for me to get selected, but chances are very slim with so many skilled UiPath RPA colleagues in the community. Do you have any tips or tricks for me, please share them with me in the comments?

I will briefly introduce you to the UiPath MVP 2021 Program and how/why I will apply.

0:48 What is a UiPath Most Valuable Professional?
Luiza Drăghicean, Regional Community Manager from UiPath, take us through the entire MVP process. In 2018 the MVP's very exclusively chosen from the forum, because that was almost the only community platform back then. UiPath expereinced accelerated growth in 2019 and the MVP of this year was build around the new platforms (hackathons, people who were creating content outside of the forum, mentors and even teachers at university). UiPath got 600 (!!) applications.

4:44 The interviews with the applicants
Being an applicant you have to go to through three interviews. Two introducing and finally a very technical round-table interview with the founders of UiPath.

5:42 Criterias
You need to have more than 2 years of UiPath experience (being in touch with the product). Being active in the community (bringing people into UiPath) is also a huge factor. What have you done before? Do you have UiPath Academy certifications? LinkedIn Posts? Hackathons? Generally speaking being the most inspiring person in the automation space.

8:13 Do you have to be active in the coming year?
As an UiPath MVP you are expected to contribute to the community in the following year. UiPath will offer you an experience, that you normally wouldn't have a chance to be a part of. The MVP's are usually active as speakers, article authors, podcasters etc. Desire and motivation is huge part of being an MVP.

10:35 Do I have a chance?
I'm a mediocre RPA developer, but do I still have a chance? Luiza speaks about, that this year they are focussing a bit more on citizen developers, testers, business users and evangelists.

There is huge benefits in being and MVP: Additional free UiPath licenses, Product feedback sessions, the chance of pitching ideas to UiPath Leards, easy acces to the product roadmap, a special community bootcamp, social media coverage, speaking and media opportunities, CMTY toolkits and playboots, knowledge sharing, MVP Club, digital assets for media coverage, branding swag and discounts for UiPath events. All of this would obviously be huge for me as a UiPath fan and I would have very interesting content for 1000 videos as well as personal growth.

19:11 I will apply for UiPath MVP 2021
After having talked with Luiza (and slept on it for some days, yeah the recording is a few days old), I'm now sure, that I will apply for the program. I see my chances as very slip, but then again...you miss 100 of the shots you don't take. And maybe it can prepare me for next years program, if I will not get selected. Fact is my colleagues are very skilled.
