Air India Express cancels 70 flights as crew members go on mass 'sick leave'
In a major flight disruption, more than 70 international and domestic flights of Air India Express on Wednesday were cancelled or delayed due to senior crew members calling in sick. The situation has raised concerns within the Ministry of Civil Aviation, which is closely monitoring the developments. About a dozen Air India Express flights from the four international airports in Kerala were cancelled leaving passengers aggrieved. The flight cancellations began around midnight at Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Kozhikode and Kannur airports.
