MY FIRST LEVEL ! Flying OCD by pineapple (me)
STORY IN DESCRIPTION :
I decided to upload every single level I made in my channel to get a cleaner "my levels" playlist, since pretty much nobody recorded them on good quality or have notifications popup or other bs.
It will be a series of around 55 videos.
I also decided this will be a retrospective journey so that we (me and you maybe) can reflect on the past things I made and how they could have been improved.
I may or may not make a video essay summing up the biggest breakthroughs.

So nothing much to say here, not my first contact with the editor but the oldest level I could find uploaded on my account.
Didn't know much about the rating system whatsoever and just thought it would be fun to make a ship level based on the ship sections of the official level (notice how first part is like stereo madness, second like back on track, polargeist ship, later we see cycles ship gp lol).
EDIT : I later found out there was a few ship mix levels but I don't recall playing them so maybe it's just a case of people having the same ideas, we will never know
I kept buffing the level until it became this.
I had some pretty unique "fake coin" ideas which were already a trend back then like in the beginning you can take a coin but as a trade off it changes gravity.
There's some kind of fish made with blocks through the level, some "jellyfish" even.
the big jellyfish at 1:11 will desync your dual if you touch it I can't remember if it's intended but I guess it can be pretty cool (or not it's a matter of perspective esp that it's not something you can sightread)
I used a mirror portal too which makes a blind transition and leaves no time to react after the polargeist ship part.
Biggest mistake here is that the level is very unbalanced and gets harder which makes deaths more frustrating.
The last section is a tough timing which makes it even more infuriating.
But other than that it's fine.
The level name could be an essay video of its own (I may make it later).
It has nothing to do with actual OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) but something pretty frustrating I played that had a similar name.
That is all.
I know nobody reads descriptions, I just need to get stuff out of my chest so it's more for myself, really.
Take home messages :
Avoid mirror portals that induce blind transitions (or I guess just avoid mirror portals in general)
Avoid dual desync gimmicks late in the level
Avoid tight timings very late in the level
Avoid unbalanced difficulty
Avoid level that starts easy then gets harder and try to make it consistent instead
(All these don't have to be strictly respected they just make your level more enjoyable in general unless you're going for the frustrating demon level route I guess)
