Ever since the COVID-19 outbreak, the South Asian countries have gone on lockdowns. While some of The ramifications of these economic lockdowns have ravaged the informal economies, daily wage workers and disturbing scenes have come out of countries like India where stranded labourers chose to walk as long as 800 kms to their native villages. Police brutality and excesses have also been reported amidst the lockdown. There is an imminent threat to freedom as well as disastrous impact on the economies of the South Asian region. The panel will discuss these egregious problems in detail and deliberate the way forward for the South Asian region as a whole.
