César grew up in a border town between Venezuela and Colombia, witnessing firsthand the plight of the Venezuelans who needed to migrate to the neighboring countries

In Venezuela, traditional media has been co-opted by the government. There’s little space for public democratic dialogue outside the internet.

César Báez spent 4 years as an SFL activist fighting to take back the freedom that was stolen from him.

César saw an urgent need to spark conversations about freedom and justice in a country where no one dared talk about liberty.

He sought ways to build a career that could help him fight the oppressive regime. As an SFLer, he had the opportunity to join the Prometheus Fellowship Program.

César wanted to create videos to reduce the barrier between Venezuelans and information about the political reality of their country.

SFL’s premier career development program provided César with a grant to buy equipment to support his aspirations. He was provided with equipment and recorded videos exposing to Venezuelans his government’s oppression and denouncing their prevalent propaganda.

Wanting to take it a step further, he applied for an internship at the Cato Institute and relocated to Washington, D.C.

Because of his work, César caught the attention of Reason Magazine. Impressed by his story, the quality of his work and the principles behind his content, they invited him to join their team as Video Producer.

César was empowered by Students For Liberty to rise above what even he thought was possible. He had the support he needed to make his ideas come to life.

Today, César's content is seen by more than 3 million people per month. From being empowered by a technology grant to showing the path to a freer future to tens of millions, César's passion serves as a beacon of hope for us all.
