ArchiCAD Detailing: Flooring Detail
It has been stated on a number of occasions that ArchiCAD Building Information Modelling (BIM) software is 40% more productive than traditional CAD.
A vector based drawing system uses lines, arcs, splines and circles, which are inefficient and non-intelligent. ArchiCAD GDL objects are similar to blocks in AutoCAD, however unlike blocks, these are fully parametric, customisable and smart.
This beam and block floor detail has been drawn with only eight components (four GDL objects, two fills and two lines) in 93 seconds. Once placed editing the detail is simple with the beam centres and associative dimensions modified in only 3 seconds!
