ArchiCAD Detailing: Eaves Detail
It has been stated on a number of occasions that ArchiCAD Building Information Modelling (BIM) software is 40% more productive than traditional CAD.
A vector based drawing system uses lines, arcs, splines and circles, which are inefficient and non-intelligent. ArchiCAD GDL objects are similar to blocks in AutoCAD, however unlike blocks, these are fully parametric, customisable and smart.
This eaves detail has been drawn with only five components (the base geometry and four GDL objects) in 52 seconds.
