Quarterhorse; US Hypersonic Aircraft With Mach 5 Speed
Hermeus, a Georgia-US based aerospace start-up company, announced on August 5 it has entered into a $60 million partnership with the US Air Force (USAF) for flight testing of hypersonic aircraft.
The company was tasked with building three prototype aircraft named the Quarterhorse as well as testing a full-scale reusable hypersonic propulsion system. The Quarterhorse is the first in a line of high-speed autonomous aircraft.
