The US Army's MLRS vehicle variant is based on the Bradley Fighting Vehicle chassis. The first M270 was delivered in 1983. The MLRS was later adopted by several NATO countries and others. The MLRS first saw service with the United States in the 1991 Gulf War. The MLRS has been upgraded to fire missiles, and has been used by Ukraine in Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
