While Americanised Mexican cuisine has not quite reached the popularity it has in its home country (restaurants do exist, albeit in small numbers -- there was a failed attempt in the late nineties-early noughties at launching the Taco Bell chain here, and local chains such as Salsa's Fresh Mex are cropping up in shopping mall food courts everywhere), supermarket kits (including such essentials as taco shells, tortillas, salsa, re-fried beans and cumin/chilli-based seasonings) for home cooking are reasonably popular and Old El Paso is by far the most popular brand in this niche market. Corn chips/salsa as a snack-food are also popular in Australia.
