Horse trader Myrl Redding, who, in order to postpone paying a toll, leaves two thoroughbred stallions and a friend with a local landowner. But, when Redding returns, he discovers that the horses have been severely abused and have been worked to death. As the landowner refuses to pay for the damages through legal channels, the owner decides to enforce the law himself, but things quickly go out of hand and have a devastating ending.
