Failed to parse setup.xml – Intel Software Installer error

If you have downloaded a newer version of an Intel driver, and when you try to install it on your Windows 10 system, with a view to updating the driver, the Intel Software Installer throws out an error message Failed to parse setup.xml, then this post may be able to guide you.

This error can occur when you try to carry out an out a silent, unattended installation – but it can appear under other circumstances too.

Here are a few things you could try to resolve the issue.

1] Update the driver using Device Manager

2] Uninstall and then fresh-install the driver

3] Use Intel Driver & Support Assistant

4] For IT administrators
