Some of the settings that are recommended to be set in-camera actually have no effect on the data captured by the sensor. Most of it is just metadata that either gets discarded, or used willy-nilly.
Colour space setting, creative style (saturation, contrast, sharpness), white balance setting, have no effect on the data that's captured into the camera-native data file.
