SEATON DELAVAL MAUSOLEUM
The Mausoleum was built in 1775 by sir John Hussey Delaval as a memorial to his son John who died in 1775. His son died as a result of being kicked in the balls by a maid. His son was never to be buried in the burial chamber underneath as he could not agree on the fees with the bishop of durham.
