What happened in the 1917 Russian Revolution?
In the year 1917, Russia experienced two political revolutions that resulted in the overthrow of the Romanov monarchy, which had ruled Russia for three centuries: from 1613 to 1917. The causes of the Russian Revolution had existed for over a century in Russian society, but the economic and social stresses were increased by the length and severity of World War One.
