My 4 biggest struggles as a new agency owner were:
1. A never ending list of processes to establish
2. Not knowing how to price my services
3. Figuring out how to get clients
4. Deciding when and if I should recruit someone to help me
For anyone starting an agency, here’s my advice:
1. Start with a project management tool and a business email. We still use ClickUp’s free plan!
2. Do some research on what others are charging in the industry. I had orignially found the prices of the largest Pinterest Marketing Agency at the time, and decided to charge less than them. You’re new, you can’t really justify charging what an establish agency charges.
3.Try every lead generation system you can think of. One (or more) will eventually work for you. Do some research on YouTube to find all the possible lead gen systems out there. Organic content marketing is one of them!
4.Hire someone to help you with your workload when you start to feel overwhelmed. That’s what I did. My first ever team member was my sister. She did all the graphic designing for our clients for about a year, which helped me out tremendously, and gave me the opportunity to learn how to hire a team and scale an agency at the same time.
What else do you struggle with?
