Hiking with a Dog in Cannon Beach, Oregon 4K
A low tide walk with a dog named Raven from Indian Beach, past Ecola State Park and Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach, Oregon.
Starting in Ecola State Park, I hiked from Indian Beach, past sub rock, over a headlands and down to Ecola Beach for a short rest. Puppy like Raven chased her tennis ball around and enjoyed the sights and smells. Then I continued to Crescent Beach below Ecola Point and watched seagulls and oystercatchers. Through the gap to Chapman Beach and across Ecola Creek. I put Raven on leash near Haystack Rock with all the people around and got to watch murres pour off the rock in response to an eagle swooping over. Past the Needles, I let Raven happy dog off leash to chase the waves, a giant stick, and a flying tennis ball. Until I hiked to the parking area at Tolovana Park, where I was grateful for my wife to pick Raven and I up all wet, sandy, and tired!
