PERSEVERING IN THE LAST DAYS
JUDE | SHINE THOMAS

● Opening Greetings – Jude 1:1-2
● Main Body – Jude 1:3-23
● Closing Doxology – Jude 1:24-25
Author and Background
● Author: Jude, the brother of James (and half-brother of
Jesus).
● Audience: Possibly the church in Judea; written around
50-70 AD.
● Purpose: To expose false teachers and encourage
believers to persevere.
Key Themes in Jude
1. Contend for the Faith – Jude 1:3
● False teachers are corrupting the church, using
grace as a license for sin and denying Jesus.
2. Characteristics of False Teachers
● Ungodly and sexually immoral – Jude 1:4, 7
● Reject authority, slander, and live by instinct –
Jude 1:8, 10
● Greedy and selfish – Jude 1:11-12
● Do not have the Spirit – Jude 1:19
3. Judgment on False Teachers
● Examples: The Exodus generation who did not
believe, fallen angels, Sodom and Gomorrah –
Jude 1:5-7
● Rebellions of Cain, Balaam, and Korah – Jude 1:11
How to Persevere in the Last Days? (Jude 1:3, 20-22)
1. Contend for the Faith
Hold fast to the Gospel and the teachings passed down to
God’s people.
2. Build Up in the Faith
Strengthen your faith intentionally, like building a house
brick-by-brick.
3. Pray in the Holy Spirit
Depend on the Spirit as our helper in prayer (Eph. 6:18,
Rom. 8:26-27).
4. Keep in God’s Love
Abide in Christ and continue in His love (Jn. 15:9-10, 1
Jn. 2:28).
5. Wait for Jesus’ Return
Anticipate His return for eternal life and final judgment
(Jude 1:14-15).
Conclusion
● God calls us to stand firm and persevere, even in
challenging times.
● With His help, we are strengthened to contend for the faith
while waiting with hope for His glorious return.
"Jude’s letter calls us to persevere in faith, strengthen our
spiritual foundation, keep in God’s love, and wait in hope for
Christ’s return."
