An amazing haul of Dyson vacuum cleaners from the Summer council cleanup. It's the most I have collected at one time. There's a DC05, DC25, DC30 (early DYSON stickvac) and DC41. I have the backstory to the DC05 and it's given almost 20 years of cleaning service in a home. Incredible Vs the absolute junk cheap Vacuum cleaners you see that struggle to last more than a few years. What was also very interesting is I find a fairly new home vacuum carpet shampooer. This is an item I rarely ever see thrown out and the one I find isn't very old and barely done any work. I took it home put on an electrical lead and plug and it still works. So why was it thrown out?

I will do a deep dive into the DC05 DYSON vacuum because it goes right back to the late 90's in design. This vacuum influenced so many clones in it's design features.

In 1979, James Dyson introduced a portable unit with cyclonic separation, adapting this design from industrial saw mills. He launched his cyclone cleaner first in Japan in the 1980s at a cost of about US$1800 and in 1993 released the Dyson DC01 upright in the UK for £200. Critics expected that people would not buy a vacuum cleaner at twice the price of a conventional unit, but the Dyson design later became the most popular cleaner in the UK.

Dyson Limited, commonly known just as Dyson, is a Singaporean based multinational technology company founded by James Dyson. First established in 1991 at Malmesbury, England, it designs and manufactures household appliances such as vacuum cleaners, air purifiers, hand dryers, bladeless fans, heaters, hair dryers, and lights. As of February 2018, Dyson had more than 12,000 employees worldwide.

In 2019, Dyson announced the company's permanent move to Singapore – its headquarters are located at the St James Power Station, across the island of Sentosa. Ever since, the company has conducted its base of operations out of Singapore, with its headquarters being the hub for Dyson's research and engineering teams, as well as commercial, advanced manufacturing and supply chain operations. In 2022, Dyson announced that it would be investing a further S$1.5 billion in the country.
