Tony Burke’s new appointments shows Albanese government has no ‘merit-based’ processes
Nationals Senate Leader Bridget McKenzie says the appointment of Tony Burke to the Home Affairs and Immigration portfolios shows the Albanese government does not have a “merit-based process”.
“This is not actually about solving the problem,” Ms McKenzie told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
“If it was, he would have put someone with a level of competence and this is what happens when you do not have a merit-based process.”
