LAMBDA function in Excel lets you make your own custom formulas.
Once you create and name a LAMBDA function, you can use it anywhere in your Excel workbook. LAMBDA functions can be simple or complex, combining different Excel functions into one formula.
The cool part is, you don’t need VBA or macros for a custom LAMBDA function.
Here’s a simple guide on how to create and use a custom LAMBDA function:
1. Check your logic using a regular formula.
2. Make and test a basic (unnamed) LAMBDA version of your formula.
3. Give your LAMBDA formula a name and define it using the name manager.
4. Use the new custom function by calling it with the defined name.
You can create and debug LAMBDA functions in the formula bar on a worksheet and later move them to the name manager to assign a name for use throughout your workbook.
