Is this kind of number always a multiple of 11? These are all palindromic numbers (which read the same forwards as backwards), but are all palindromic numbers multiples of 11? And if not, what else do they have in common that makes them all multiples of 11?

I discovered this puzzle via Catriona Agg's episode on the MEI 'Digging for the Why' podcast here: https://mei.org.uk/s2-e2-the-power-of... - worth a listen, especially for teachers!
