The Making Music Up in Lights project aims to showcase the brilliant variety of music our 3,500 member groups have continued making across the UK, even in the face of a pandemic. Formed of 190,000 hobby musicians, our groups perform diverse genres and styles of music at all levels of experience – each music maker’s unique background contributes to the rich tapestry of the leisure-time music sector.

Our seventh spotlight falls on Forth Valley Chorus from Scotland, who shimmer with style in their performance of Jess Glynne's pop belter 'Hold My Hand'!

Watch their vocal arrangement above and let us know if it brightens your day in the comments section below – if you've a penchant for a bit of barbershop, hit the Like button and subscribe to our channel so you don’t miss the next instalment!

About Forth Valley Chorus:
Forth Valley Chorus (FVC) is a multi award-winning women's barbershop a cappella chorus based in Edinburgh. We started in 1987 with 8 just members. In 2021, our 34th year, we have 101 members – including 3 founder members. We are affiliated to Sweet Adelines International, a non-profit organisation of approximately 25,000 members in choruses and quartets, worldwide. The Headquarters are based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We sing a wide variety of songs from all genres - pop, jazz and classics in the a cappella style, as well as a range of songs based on the American SongBook arranged in Barbershop style. We combine our singing with choreography and a range of dazzling costumes for maximum stage impact. We are Regional Gold medallists seven times over and have represented Region 31 (the UK and the Netherlands) in International Competition in the USA six times. In our latest trip to New Orleans in September 2019 we put both Scotland and the UK on the Barbershop map when we broke into the top ten in the world - the first time a region 31 chorus has EVER featured in the top 10.
