In this video, we will learn to add CSS, images, js to our spring MVC app. Adding static resources to a Spring MVC app is a very easy job to do if we understand, how to create a handler. So we will be using the addResourceHandler method of webmvcconfigure interface to achieve this.

I will also provide some real-time insights to handle the spring MVC static resources. Adding so many CSS files for a particular page can cause performance issues for your application as the load time is going to increase. Similarly, we have to be careful while adding images to our webpage as adding heavy images(large in size) can increase the load time of your webpage. I will also introduce a term today called minified CSS / minified js. Minifying is just a process where we can combine multiple css files together to decrease the HTTP requests which can help us to increase the page load time.

Before we dive deeper let’s create some URL for css resources and load it to our spring MVC application.

Project Description :

Spring MVC + Spring JDBC + Spring Security ; these are the three main spring modules that we will be implementing in this project. The output of this course is going to be
a student management application that will be making with java and spring.

Note that this project comes under java projects for beginners category and aims to help you build your first real-time spring app and deploy it on the could. Once we are done with this,we will build some more advanced project in my future course.
