Cell Fracture Addon - Blender 2.8
The Cell Fracture addon allows you to make fractures of a mesh in Blender 2.8. This add-on is build in Blender and while in development already working. Since there is not much documentation, here a video with some tips worth mentioning.

Prepare the scene.
Quick overview of the UI.
Interactive pop-up.
Modifier stack: This to make the fractures suitable for rendering and get rid of the look with sharp edges. Also shows how assign modifiers to multiple objects.
Assigning a material and how to assign material to multiple objects (fractures in this case).
Add rigid bodies to the fractures.
