A federal judge just found Google violated antitrust law and acted as a monopoly, hereโs what this will mean for all of us.
So Google has finally been found guilty of abusing its power by essentially forcing browsers and devices to use its search engine, as well as leveraging user data and other tricks.
Though they will most certainly appeal, what are the ramifications?
The judge has yet to lay out specifics, but theyโre likely going to have restrictions on their search agreements, and be forced to divest specific aspects of their business.
We might be moving towards a future of Ad-free search results.
Other companies will build truly competitive search engines โ and this is where SEO pros will want to keep an eye on the scene, and continue to optimize content for search engines not names Google, whenever and however they start coming onto the scene.
