Polymer flow during rotational molding using smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH)
The simulation in the video of a preliminary model which was further calibrated to match experimental results. It is a common practice to model granular material flow with discrete element method (DEM). But in this work, we investigate the possible benefits of utilizing the SPH method to simulate the motion of “sand-like” polymer flow inside the drum with a large number of particles.
