Heres a tutorial on how to get back the old google chrome design back from 2012 to the summer of 2013.

Copy and paste this into your URL bar:
chrome://flags/#enable-instant-extended-api

Then select "Disable" at the drop down menu at the first setting on the page. (Like in video.)
