Over 2,000 brave defenders of Mariupol have been held in russian captivity for over a year now. However, thousands of Ukrainian families have not lost hope and are waiting for their loved ones to return. Inspired by the bravery of the defenders and people of Mariupol and Azovstal, ‘Our Lady of Mariupol’ print is a one-of-a-kind piece of history created and signed in Ukraine by Ukrainian illustrator Maksym Palenko.
The artwork depicts the Lady of Mariupol as Pokrova, extending her arms to protect the heroic defenders of Mariupol from shelling and destruction. Her veil or cassock shows the inner structure of the Azovstal plant catacombs that became a temporary shelter for Ukrainian fighters and civilians. Under her arms, covered in her cassock, the protectors of Mariupol are peering into your eyes.
The net profits from this art sale will be donated directly to the Azovstal Families Association to help families of the Ukrainian POWs. Contribute to the cause today!
