Eddie Van Halen Was Planning to Bring Back Michael Anthony for Van Halen Farewell Tour
In the months leading up to his death in October 2020, Eddie Van Halen was working on reuniting Van Halen’s original lineup for a farewell tour. This information was shared by Nuno Bettencourt, guitarist of Extreme, who met Eddie in 2019.
Bettencourt recalled that Eddie surprised him by showing up at his home while he was recording for Extreme’s upcoming album, "Six". Bettencourt had been working on the solo for their new single “Rise” when he received an urgent call from Extreme's singer Gary Cherone, who urged him to return home immediately.
