UPDATE: Be sure to check out my other videos showing the finished plotter in action.
-----
This is my micro mini CNC plotter prototype built from DVD drive stepper motors. It has a 1 5/16 inch square drawing area.
Here I'm testing the X and Y axes by running a few math-based commands. I'm working on building the Z axis and improving the code running it. The main thing I want to implement is a basic g-code translator, but I'm only partially done with that.
This is running from a Linux PC, controlled by a Python script, over a USB serial adapter, to a pic12f675 and an SN754410 quad half bridge per each channel. Nothing else. Basically I'm sending the pin-out serially on a master-slave network.
I'll post another video when I get the X axis finished and can actually draw something. And again once I have the g-code running.
Cheers.
