I recently started plein air painting and was appalled at the prices of easels, A Easel, palette and tripod can easily get over 400 dollars. Often times it's really hard to find a cheap way to start painting plein air. So instead of spending over 200 dollars on just the easel I made my own, Here is my process. I used a Masters Touch aluminum table easel ($17.99) , and a Sunpack 6000pg Tripod (sale $35.99) to create a DIY plein air easel.
