Freecad: Spring animation / simulation in Python. Beginners guide to macro programming / scripting
We are back with scripting Sunday and helping you to learn Python programming in your favourite CAD package, FreeCAD. This time we look at how to model and simulate a spring using a helix from the part workbench, an additive sweep from the part design and some python macro code to extend and contract the spring. We end up with some code to animate a spring contracting and expanding. I will take you step by step in easy to understand steps so you can learn to program and apply it to a real world example.
