The chain stitch family is one of the biggest in hand embroidery. This loopy stitch is so versatile and open for variations. The alternating twisted chain stitch - what a long name! - is a variation of a variation, even.
The result is a curved line with outward spikes. It can look like fish jumping out in a row, algae, leafy stems or as a reader of mine pointed out: make it grey, and it looks like barbed wire. Well, you can use it as you please!Happy stitching!
